New Faucet

They say that the hardest part of installing a new faucet is removing the old one:

Garden

Progress at the garden this year so far:
Onions, carrots, cucumbers and radishes all popped up this week. Still waiting for the beets to make an appearance. The tomatoes, broccoli and peppers that we planted from starts are doing good too.

Yoplait Cups

This post is to prove to Melinda and Cameron that I'm not insane and making things up when I say that Yoplait containers are specifically designed with a bottom rim so that skunks can remove them from their heads with their feet.
The proof is

Ogden Marathon, Year 2

Tori ran in the Ogden 1/2 Marathon again this year. She did awesome and beat her time from last year!
Run, mommy, run!
I snuck in this illegal photo while casually standing to the side as the official race photographer took her picture (which they try and get you to buy.) I think this may be a good method of getting pictures with mall Santas as well.
Rachel and Corbin cheering on Uncle Caleb with their cowbells. (He ran the last leg of his company's relay team.)

Tori: I have to say that the run was just as tough as last year's. My first 6 miles were super fast, then I started to die. I didn't beat my time by much, but I did beat it. I guess that counts. My favorite part was to see Rachel's big smile at the finish line. She seemed so proud of me. What a spectalcular feeling of accompishment. I have another one in August that I'm running with my friends. It is going to be so much fun. Want to join us?

First day of Preschool.

Rachel started preschool this week up at Weber St.
Here's the obligitory first-day-of-school picture:
(minus the backpack because she hasn't got one and because the program is really more daycare-while-mommy-goes-to-class than it is school.)

Home again, home again....

A bunch of pictures from our recent trip:
This was our first lunch stop in Denver. We decided that we might like to move to Denver someday. It was beautiful!

We already showed some pictures of this place. This is the crazy "museum" in Colorado with the outhouse that Rachel used. It was a fun stop.

Look at all this stuff. Every place on the walls and ceiling had trinketts and old stuff. The owner was a funny old man who loved to talk and play tricks.

This is the pride of Kansas. Honestly, this was the ONLY interesting thing to see in Kansas. We hated Kansas so much that we avoided it as much as we could on our way home. We even took some out of the way highways. It was so worth it.

We stopped in Wichita on our second day for our picnic lunch. It was cold and wet like the majority of our trip. Also, they must of just had a big storm, because the playground was washed away.

This is the Fish House that my Dad eats lunch at EVERY Saturday at 11:15 with his best friend. He treats us to lunch here everytime we visit. It is not tasty, but it is tradition.

This is a long story. We got my parents a new TV. We had to dispose of the two 20+ year old TVs in a rainstorm in the middle of the night. This is not a simple task when all the dumpsters say "No public dumping" and "Smile for the camera" on them. We finally found a dark townhouse complex. We dumped them and ran.

This is Rachel with her Great Grandmother Rachel (whom Rachel is named after). She is getting older and are glad that Rachel gets to know her.

This is how Rachel sat the majority of the trip. She did so good for the total of our 4 day car trip. Thank heaven for portable DVD players, books on tape, and licorice.

On our way home, we stopped in Oklahoma City at the memorial. It was so neat. Even after all these years, the bombing affects so many people.

There was such a special feeling on these grounds. Seeing the small chairs that represent the children that died was tough.

More of the memorial

The lawn-mower lines at the Denver Temple are a work of art. We stopped here for lunch on the way home. We drove through the mountains of Denver and decided to move there..maybe.Although it rained the whole time, our trip was so great. My parents are well. Driving for hours wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Rachel did great, and we got to see so much of the United States. I hope we do it again, avoid Kansas, of course.
