Frontrunner

We showed our Clearfield city pride by attending the grand opening of our new Commuter Rail station yesterday. (Plus, we heard that they were giving away free food and we were too lazy to cook breakfast)

We live close enough to the tracks that you can hear the trains going by and Rachel always runs to the window when she hears one and say's "Choo-choo". Yesterday, we finally got to see one up close. The wait for a ride was almost 1 1/2 hours, but it was pretty cool to ride.

Night on the Town (City)

Friday night, Rachel and I met Tyler in Salt Lake for a family night. We parked the car and rode the train to the Gateway. We like to walk around and window shop there.
Then, we went to Temple Square to walk and enjoy the flowers. They were beautiful!!! Rachel loved them some much. She had to touch and smell every single one.
We ended our evening with dinner at the Lion House. It was so yummy and just a fun atmosphere.

Comfortable?

Is it normal for parents to sneak into their children's rooms each night and check on them after they fall asleep and take pictures of them while they sleep when they find them sleeping in odd or cute positions?
This is honestly the way that Rachel usually sleeps:

Doesn't it look comfy?

Our little reader

I took this candid shot of Rachel sitting on the balcony reading to herself the other day:

Ten Miles What?

We ran our ten mile mark. It was tough! My knee kills from mile 4-9, but I just keep moving towards the end. I seem to dred the run at the beginnning, but when I finish, I feel awesome and a bit amazed at myself. I can't believe that I did it! When Dawn first started to motivated me to run a half marathon, I thought she was crazy. I thought that there was no way this chubby girl could do it. Now, at ten miles, I totally think that I can do anything if I try and stick with it. We just have 3.1 miles left and four more weeks of training until our big day! (FYI: I know that we look like death!)

Rachel's Garden

Rachel loves her flowers. Tyler planted some tulip bulbs in the white pot behind Rachel. They weren't growing, but he still had hope...until today. Rachel couldn't fight temptation anymore. She pulled all three bulbs out of the soil. After I saw her work, I thought the damage was done, so I let her continue to play in the soil. BAD IDEA! It got everywhere. Look at our balcony. You can't see it. Now, imagine Rachel's hair!
I thought I'd never get it all out of the little hair she has, but we did. It all sank to the bottom of my freshly cleaned tub. Such is the life of a mom. (Isn't she cute!)

Seen any good movies lately???

We've recently had the misfortune of selecting dud after dud after dud from the Redbox, culminating with tonight's dissapointment: 'I am Legend'
The movie had potential early on, but the premise was terribly executed and fizzled its way to a horrible ending in which our protagonist needlessly kills himself to save humanity. Couldn't he just as easily have pulled the pin and thrown the grenade at the zombie-monsters from the safety of the hatch with the others instead of blowing himself up?
(If I've just ruined the ending of the film for you, consider yourself lucky and don't bother to see it.)

If there are any movies in the world left seeing, please let us know.

LÄTT

Here we see Rachel helping daddy to assemble her new LÄTT table and chairs from IKEA:
And enjoying them once we were finished:
It was only $20 and its the first thing I've put together from IKEA without having any pieces left over when I was done. Not bad!

OH NO!!!

Tyler was playing with Rachel. He likes to practice different hair styles for when she actully has hair. This is his new favorite style. Rachel seems to like it. I think we'll go with it!
