We are back from vacation. We had a fun time visiting Arkansas, but it is nice to be back home and getting back to normal after a month of traveling. Tori and Rachel left for Arkansas on the 11th of July, and I flew out to join them last Friday. To fly to Little Rock as cheaply as possible, I flew via Phoenix, Oklahoma City and Dallas, where I had a long layover and time to explore the city a bit:

Downtown Dallas:

JFK was killed in Dallas in 1963. This is the building that his shooter was hiding in. There is a museum on the sixth floor now:

And this is the spot in Dealy Plaza that his motorcade was passing through when he was killed:
On Saturday, we had lunch at the Conway Fish House. We decided to let Rachel taste a pickle and a lemon to see what her reaction would be. We were surprised that she loved them both:
On Saturday night, we walked across a new pedestrian bridge over the Arkansas river. Someone near the shore had caught these giant catfish:
Rachel fell asleep in her stroller on our walk:It's hard to see in this picture, but this is the bridge we walked across. It is lit up at night with colored lights that change colors. It was pretty cool looking:
Rachel playing in and Old Navy bag at Aunt Dawn's house:
This is Rachel with her Great Grandma Rachel Edgmon, for whom she was named:
Near Grandma Rachel's house in Damascus, we found this self-service honey stand. It worked on the honor system. You just put your money in a box and took what you'd payed for:

  1. It look like you guys had a really fun time down there.... But i can't stop thinking about the picture of the fish in middle of that path that i am assuming is also in the middle of the city! I just think that it is funny.. But only cause i have given you such a hard time about being from the south

  2. Looks like a fun adventure! Did Rachel also try okra? We both remember eating that at the Fish House when your family took us there at your wedding.
