Spring Break

We headed South for a little sun in St. George and Zion National Park.  It was great to feel the sun, be with our family, and not do homework.

We visited a few places in St. George.  One stop was the temple and visitors' center.  The grass was so green that the temple just beamed.  It is a beautiful building.  It was fun for Tyler, because his parents were married here.
Through the downtown square was a stream of cold welcoming wading water.  Rachel had a blast even when her toes were as cold as ice.  She didn't want to leave.  We also did a little shopping while in St. George.  It was a great city but very busy.
We had booked a cute hotel with Priceline, but they actually overbooked and upgraded us to an amazing hotel just down the road.  I told Tyler I felt like I was at the Dragonfly Inn in Stars Hallow from the TV show Gilmore Girls.  The room was big and just redecorated.  This was our outside view from our private patio.  There were horses, cow, and dogs running around in the pasture.  It was very ideal for a three year old.  Rachel was just thirlled.
We spent a day at Zion National Park too. WOW! Rachel wasn't too excited after the third or fourth mountain, but we drove through the park and crazy tunnel. We even went on two very short hikes.

We even got our bikes out.  This was Rachel's favorite part.  I was suprised that I did quite well being 8 months pregnant.  I was in the back, but enjoyed it all the same.  We couldn't ride too long, becasue Tyler's bike tire was messed up some how.  Still, we all thought our bike ride through a National park was splendid.
We had lunch in the park.
While waiting for our IMAX style movie, we attended the Springdale St. Patrick's Day festival.  Again, I felt like I was walking through Stars Hallow.
They had a small parade, green jell-o eating contest, jell-o sculpting contest, horses, bagpipers, a man on stilts, and some bouncing houses and slides.
We had a great time on our last family vacation before out little man Wesley arrives.  Now, we have three week of school, a week of finals, and graduation!
